After a loooong wait, here it is! \o/ Animus! The web doujinshi (fan comic) that ~Darkpsycho1000 and I have been working on these past couple months.

Animus is a Tales of the Abyss AU (alternate universe) fan comic that takes place -mostly- in Baticul and centers around Luke, Asch, Guy, Jade, Tear and a few other characters as the story progresses. However. While the characters are from TotA, the story and circumstances in which they developed are entirely different.

For example... Guy has not met Luke until the start of the comic even though their at their game ages. Also, Luke wasn't exactly spoiled growing up... In fact, House Fabre has fallen out of favor with Kimlasca, and while Luke is a noble of sorts, he doesn't live in the lap of luxury and his father is none too pleased that his son lost his memories. Rather than worrying about paying tutors to personally teach Luke, he's actually in a Private School. And you can imagine how dumb he must seem in everyone else's eyes...

Anyhow, that's just one example of why Luke doesn't act so high and mighty from the get go. I can assure you that he's still a loveable idiot though. ;D

A Few Warnings
Animus contains BL, though it won't appear for a while and will be fairly light shounen ai (for now at least)
Even though it's an AU, Animus DOES contain spoilers for the game (Luke's identity, Asch, Guy's past, whatnot)

Other Important Info Regarding Auldrant
The presence of fonons are known but not abundant. Most of Auldrant's population has NO powers above that of a normal human. However, those that have discovered how to work with fonons have managed to mutate the human body. It's a grueling process with little chance of survival. And those that do survive have abnormal strength, senses, and even a few cases of special abilities. The only downside to undergoing this monster-like transformation is the need to feed off of normal humans. The characters are not vampires. They are very much alive and can thrive in the light, but need more than normal sustenance to maintain their bodies.

I won't explain further than that. x: You can find out for yourself in the story (Jade does a LOT of explaining XD ).
